In the organizer's words:

Exhibition: How It Comes Together
Paintings by Rosa Loy & Sculptures by Reinhard Fischer

There are circumstances and events in life that we don’t seek out—they simply happen. The biographies of the two Markkleeberg artists, Rosa Loy and Reinhard Fischer (who passed away in 2023), are no exception. Both initially worked in non-artistic professions: Rosa Loy as a horticultural engineer, and Reinhard Fischer as the successful head of an IT company in their hometown of Markkleeberg. Starting in the 1980s, he also pursued visual art and eventually developed his own style through the creation of wooden sculptures. To this end, he spent many years transforming found pieces of wood—mostly roots he discovered on walks—into figurative sculptures that followed the natural growth of the wood. Rosa Loy, meanwhile, found a balance between her passions; gardening became a cherished outlet to complement her successful career as a painter. The exhibition brings the works of both artists together for the first time. In a sort of “home game,” Rosa Loy presents works in “Wie es sich findet” that she had either deliberately chosen not to sell until now or has reclaimed for herself, corresponding with Reinhard Fischer’s sculpturally reworked found objects.
