Märchen aus Bhutan
In the organizer's words:
Gopilal Acharya and Johanna Wollin from ErzählZeit
What happens when stories are told instead of written down? When stories can change just a little bit with every storyteller? Whether it’s talking pumpkins, quarreling ghosts, or a snake that becomes a king: In the wondrous world of Bhutanese fairy tales and folk stories, anything is possible. Passed down orally over the centuries, they change with every storyteller and exist in a wide variety of versions.
The Bhutanese author Gopilal Acharya has collected many of these stories. Together with storyteller Johanna Wollin from the educational project ErzählZeit, he is organizing a storytelling session as part ofMiddle Ground: Nepal Literature Festival, where children and their families are invited to immerse themselves in the world of Bhutanese fairy tales with all its secrets and adventures.
