Martin Strippelmann – The Celebration of Variety and Richness

Very little is known about Martin Strippelmann. This has the advantage that nothing obscures an unbiased view of his work, which he has developed over decades into a fascinating and coherent life’s work.

His “relational painting” is based on defined, multifaceted relationships between the elements of color, form, and space. Using highly precise glazing techniques, he translates his concepts onto canvases. The result is a series of works characterized by a visual opulence and poetry rarely found in the realm of constructivist art.

Martin Strippelmann, born in 1951, studied at the HfbK Hamburg. He has lived and worked in Cologne for 38 years. In the exhibition “The Celebration of Variety and Richness,” Galerie r8m is presenting works that have not been exhibited before.
