Bonn, August 7, 2026 – With the exhibition “Miniature Landscapes,” Salon Schintz – Art & Drinks – presents works by the painter and conceptual artist Hermann B. (Dr. Hermann Bentrup – instagram.de/hermannbentrup). The exhibition continues the venue’s mission to present contemporary art in a unique, intimate atmosphere.

On view from August 30 to September 20, 2026, are semi-abstract landscapes in postcard format, created between 2024 and 2026. The works oscillate between idyll and disruption and, particularly in their small format, invite viewers to engage intensively with details and points of rupture. They take up the image of the landscape, yet simultaneously dissolve it, opening up a space for memory, longing, and disorientation.

Hermann B. works with found support materials, various painting techniques, and unusual pigments. Through layering, scraping, reworking, and deliberate disruptions, he creates pictorial spaces that are not fixed to any single interpretation.

The artist, who grew up in the Ruhr region, now lives and works in the Ahr Valley and in Lübeck. His experiences as an engineer and researcher also shape his artistic work, in which he explores structure, dissolution, and reorganization.

The exhibition is part of a diverse exhibition year for Hermann B., including stops at the xpon-art gallery in Hamburg, the 14th Revierkunst at the LWL Industrial Museum Henrichshütte in Hattingen, the 54th Greetsieler Woche, and the ongoing urban space exhibition “Kunst findet Stadt” in Rheinbach.

The artist will be present at the opening and closing events. The exhibition is aimed at art enthusiasts as well as visitors who wish to experience contemporary painting in an intimate setting.
