Mit Klangzauber aus Barock und Romantik in den Advent

The Theater- und Konzertfreunde are kicking off Advent in an atmospheric way and with proven quality, inviting you to traditional Christmas music in the Immanuel Church in Marten on Sunday afternoon. Members of the Dortmund Theatre ensemble, two orchestras from the Orchesterzentrum|NRW, Dortmund.Musik and the CHORAKADEMIE at the Konzerthaus Dortmund will be performing. The venue also promises a fitting ambience - the Immanuelkirche is known for its art nouveau architecture, which impresses with its rich ornamentation, especially in the interior.

The cast and program are also likely to impress. Mezzo-soprano Ruth Katharina Peeck and baritone Mandla Mndebele from the Dortmund Opera. The Orchesterzentrum|NRW is bringing its chamber orchestra OZM|Soloists under the direction of Alexander Hülshoff and the brass quintet OZM|Brass. Dortmund.Musik will host the Baroque Academy, conducted by Barbara Bielefeld-Rikus, and the Chorakademie will be joined by the OpernkinderVorchor under Elisabeth Strake.

They will perform an Advent mix of Bach's Christmas Oratorio, works by Telemann, Scarlatti, Kapsberger and Tchaikovsky, well-known and lesser-known folk tunes from Italy and France, among others, as well as a Christmas medley. Ekkehard Freye from the Schauspielhaus Dortmund completes the afternoon with a Tucholsky reading as an intermezzo between the musical parts of the program.
