Monika Mann (1910-1998), the fourth of Katia and Thomas Mann's six children, was considered an eccentric in her family, always standing in the shadow of her siblings. And yet she wrote clever feuilletons, enchanting miniatures and the highly acclaimed volume of memoirs "Vergangenes und Gegenwärtiges" (to the displeasure of her sister Erika).
It was on the island of Capri that she finally experienced the happiness of her late life and love. Kerstin Holzer, who created a literary monument to Monika Mann in her acclaimed book "Monascella", has compiled a selection of the most beautiful texts. Liliane Amuat, who can be seen at the Residenztheater as Tony Buddenbrook, among others, will be reading.
