Museum of No Art / Kontou / Volkmann

Listening is a small-scale utopia: spending an hour without trying to categorize anything, but simply taking in whatever emerges. Three musicians fulfill this promise at this lunchtime concert during Cologne Jazz Week: Luise Volkmann, Athina Kontou, and Museum of No Art.

They’ve already shared the stage in Marburg on separate occasions.Volkmann and Kontou , both from Cologne, with their project“Mother,”and Mona Steinwidder from Hamburg—aka Museum of No Art —just a few streets away. At Cologne’s Antoniterkirche, their musical languages are now truly coming together for the first time: punk and new music, Greek musical culture and contemporary jazz, dreamlike, electronically grounded textures.
