NACH DER WAHL IN SACHSEN-ANHALT
In the organizer's words:
State elections will be held in Saxony-Anhalt on September 6. Saxony-Anhalt could then become the first German state since 1945 to have a far-right party in the government. With a far-right party in government, Saxony-Anhalt would follow a path already taken by many EU countries—such as Austria, Italy, and Hungary—as well as by Scandinavian countries, where such parties have served either as governing parties or as kingmakers. There have already been isolated instances of such developments in Germany as well, though so far only in smaller cities and counties in eastern Germany.A few days after the election in Saxony-Anhalt, we’ll discuss the conditions facing civil society actors, queer people, and cultural initiatives in such municipalities and states—and how they can continue to be active—during a panel discussion at the SO36 venue in Berlin.Panel discussion with Tam (CSD Sonneberg; she co-organizes the CSD in Sonneberg. This small Thuringian town has had its first AfD district administrator since 2023), David Begrich (an expert on the far right from Miteinander e. V. in Magdeburg), Alina Güdel (AkuBiz / AG Asylsuchende Pirna), and other guests. Moderator: Fabian Kunow. The event is taking place in media partnership with the nd.
