NATIVO is a reggae crossover band from Kiel. It was founded in 2018 by the Venezuelan-born singer and guitarist Fernando Henriquez. Their many rousing concerts have earned them a very good reputation as a live band, which has even taken them as far as Spain this year. With "Contrasistema", they released their first album, on which they mix reggae with elements of funk, Latin, hip hop, dub and Arabic blues and rock. They sing their lyrics about social justice, tolerance and solidarity in both Spanish and English. Their name also refers to their deep connection with Mother Nature and original Latin American cultures.
The SOMMERSALON'24 event series takes place open air in the LOLA beer garden. It is funded by the Bergedorf district authority.
