Neujahrszauber im Saarbrücken mit Anny Hwang, Antonietta Jana & Orchester OSSL

Festive New Year's Concert with Anny Hwang & the OSSL Orchestra

To ring in the New Year on January 10, 2027, we invite you to enjoy a program that combines the festive New Year’s spirit with a grand tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven.

Beethoven 200 – The year 2027 is entirely dedicated to this musical giant: To mark the 200th anniversary of his death, Villa Fuchs and the HA Multicultural Orchestra e.V. invite you to a festive New Year’s concert in a class of its own. The program centers on two of his most monumental works: the dramatic “Fidelio” Overture and his majestic Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73—because of the piano concerto’s majestic, magnificent sound, George Grove dubbed it “Emperor” (Emperor) in 1879—music that, like almost no other, epitomizes timeless brilliance and compositional mastery. The soloist at the piano is Anny Hwang, an internationally renowned pianist, Steinway Artist, and official Saarland Super Ambassador.

The soprano Antonietta Jana will provide the evening’s vocal highlights. With her warm voice, she will perform cheerful arias from the operas of Albert Lortzing—works full of joie de vivre and wit that perfectly complement the festive character of a New Year’s concert.

The Orchestre Symphonique Saar-Lorraine (OSSL), under the musical direction of Götz Hartmann, presents a varied program. In addition to Beethoven and Lortzing, the program features lively polkas and waltzes by Johann Strauss as well as Josef Ivanovic’s famous “Danube Waves.” The musicians round out the evening with encores—a lively and festive finale that perfectly captures the spirit of the New Year.
