The Nordsnø Ensemble is dedicated to combining Scandinavian folklore with elements of contemporary jazz. The mystical moods of Scandinavian folk songs meet spherical soundscapes, penetrating rhythms and lyrical singing.
The focus is on traditional songs and their lyrics, which are reinterpreted through colorful arrangements and sonorous improvisations. The listeners feel transported to the untouched nature of the vast fjords, forests and the mysticism of the mountains of Scandinavia, and for a moment they can detach themselves from the turbulent everyday life.
The Nordsnø Ensemble is a prize winner of "Jazz Hoch im Kurs".

"This band sounds great. I feel home by listening to it. It's very inspiring that they are pushing the jazz limits, and making a concept with a clear signature. Thats what we need, thats what I like.
