IMPACT25. Countercrafts: On Practices of Resistance, Repair and Reworlding

When artistic creation engages with social realities, it reveals its particular strength: it is always both part of the present and a utopian force that reaches into the realm of the imaginable.

In times of increasing inequality, narrow-minded discourses and authoritarian attacks on democratic achievements, there is a need for spaces in which counter-strategies can be developed and tested, affects negotiated and complex perspectives made visible. Art creates resonant spaces for practices of resistance, repair and reshaping the world in order to challenge dominant narratives and foreground personal notions of belonging and the future.

How can art be used as a tool that we can literally take into our own hands? What models of resistant practices exist and can be shared with others? Is it possible to build bridges between places, resources and existing infrastructures to create connections in new ways?

IMPACT25 sees itself as a transdisciplinary symposium for strategies for dealing with the future. It brings together practices and designs from art, science, urban space, architecture and other fields of research.

This year's edition will take place in two phases: The first two days are open to the public, including short presentations of the selected invited projects, followed by two days of closed sessions dedicated to the exchange of ideas.
