The OPENHAUS format takes place every two months and invites the resident artists and current project partners to open their studios to the public. It offers a unique opportunity to get to know the different interests and working processes of the artists in their personal studios.
From hostile architecture to urban nature, the residents of ZK/U use different media and practices to pose questions about contemporary existence. Visitors are invited to take a look at the first experiments of new performance and installation works and take part in readings from text drafts. The current residencies deal with Vipassana practice, landscape assemblages and cross-species urbanism. Creative coding meets permacomputing and digital archiving. This OPENHAUS offers insights into these diverse investigations, from conceptual approaches to material experiments.
Instead of presenting final results, OPENHAUS focuses on the process and offers visitors the opportunity to interact with the artists and learn more about their work. The participatory and informal format invites the public to look behind the scenes and meet the artists on a personal level. It offers both the artists and the community the chance to exchange and share ideas.
