A fictional story unfolds in the cold, pungent breath of reality: a strange figure bakes a strange cake over and over again. The ingredients pour out of the strange figure's body and are mixed and whisked by the music. The sun comes down from the sky to bake the cake with its warm rays. The strange character wishes it would stay longer and warm the cold, stinging reality. But the sun does not stay.
Forget Me. is a fairy tale. You find it in a room full of crocheted objects, and it is woven by a solo artist and a composer into a poetry of invented words, explosive movement expression and pantomime.
The artists want to open up a space for reflection with the audience through the lens of the fairy tale. In a reality in which we accept injustice as a nuance of everyday life, what else can bring about change? Do stories and acts of caring still have such power?
