At 5 p.m., the doors to the "Café Antike" will open at Pariser Platz: the world of myths will be brought out of the preserving jar with ancient Greek recitations and refreshing drinks. We invite you to take a seat at four moderated themed tables, join in the discussion and reflect on the significance of antiquity for us today. Starting at 7 pm, Ulrike Draesner will read from her new book penelopes sch()iff and talk about it with Aris Fioretos, Jonas Grethlein and Karen Leeder. It tells the story of an adventurous female journey through the Aegean. This journey goes far beyond the ancient epic. Not only the queen, but also her daughters and slaves have their say. As soon as the ship is underway, the familiar social order collapses. How can people live together without oppression? How to find a fruitful coexistence despite old wounds?
