Fantastic art-pop from two legendary groove virtuosos who are on tour with a new album. Only concert in Germany!

The fate of obscurity befalls many in music. Certain instruments or positions in the business are predestined for this, above all the bass or being a producer. But isn't it precisely the background that gives great art its formative contours in the first place?

The fact that Pino Palladino on bass and Blake Mills as a producer have worked with the greatest of the greats - from David Gilmour to Ryūichi Sakamoto and Bob Dylan - and have had a significant influence on them, speaks for itself. Even more exciting, however, is the project in which the two play the leading role alongside and with each other.

With their debut album "Notes With Attachments", released in 2021, they have made it from the background to the foreground of the jazz scene. The duo's sound and noise compositions are reminiscent of Fela Kuti's rhythm overlays, enlivened by Palladino's melodic virtuosity and rounded off by Blake Mills' synth and guitar overdubs. Here, laid-back beats meet a fine feel for the interface between composition and improvisation.

On their new album "That Wasn't A Dream", their interplay inspires once again. On it, Mills experiments with his fretless electric guitar and disturbing noises, which do not disturb but create fascinating sound contours. Palladino provides the sonic compactness with murderously grooving bass lines that inevitably cause the neck to nod rhythmically - and ultimately transform the dream into reality.
