Sven Kierst's photographic works are concerned with discovering the intrinsic aesthetics of the seemingly inconspicuous and insignificant.
This results in motifs that alternate between figurative and abstract compositions. They thus distance themselves from their original state and are liberated from it.

Kierst provides suggestion as a stimulus - not as an assertion.

Supporting program for the exhibition opening:
Our artist talk with Sven Kierst begins at 3.30 pm.

Afterwards, the Canadian finger-picking guitarist Don Alder will give a short concert and then accompany us discreetly in the background while we and Sven Kierst talk to each other and everyone can discover the photos for themselves.
