Podiumsdiskussion: Die Kunst, für alle sichtbar zu werden

In the organizer's words:

How can art be experienced by blind and visually impaired people? What steps have already been successfully taken - and what challenges still await? These questions are the focus of the panel discussion at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig.

Experts from various fields, from Leipzig and France, will discuss how art and culture can be made inclusive - from innovative approaches in the field of accessibility to their implementation in concrete projects that redefine access and possibilities of perception.
Which institutions are pioneers in this field? How rocky has the road been so far? What structural hurdles exist? What active role do people with disabilities play in the implementation?

Stefan Wilhelm from Inclusive Gaming Leipzig, Sebastian Schulze from Runder Tisch Leipzig, Noëllie Aulas from the association Laville Impressions Braille & D'Histoires en Patrimoine from Paris, the author and artist Hélène Jousse and a representative of the Inclusion Service Center in the cultural sector of the Saxony State Association of Socioculture will be present. The discussion will be moderated by Franciska Zólyom, Director and Curator of the Gallery of Contemporary Art Leipzig.

The event series "Auf den Punkt gebracht" to mark the 200th anniversary of Braille is organized by the Deutsch-Französische-Gesellschaft Leipzig, the French Honorary Consulate Leipzig and the Institut français Leipzig.

In cooperation with: Deutsches Zentrum für barrierefreies Lesen - dzb lesen, Leipzig University of Music and Theatre, Schaubühne Lindenfels, Inclusive Gaming GmbH Leipzig, Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig, Servicestelle Inklusion im Kulturbereich des Landesverbands Soziokultur Sachsen and Sparkasse Leipzig.
