What exactly is a poetry slam?
Artists compete against each other with texts they’ve written themselves. It can be really funny, or it can tug at your heartstrings. It can be thought-provoking, or critical. It can be utter nonsense (but entertaining), or a profound exploration of an issue. The audience decides who advances to the finals and who wins. Literature meets stage performance. Live culture in its purest form. In rhyme? Well, you know what I mean.
The Kiezpoeten are the largest slam organizers in Berlin and Brandenburg and bring a colorful mix of performing arts to the stage.
