Portraits aus der iranischen Gesellschaft

In the organizer's words:

Insights into the everyday lives of people in Iran are rare in our country. Our image of Iranian society is strongly influenced by the media, which mainly focuses on the threat posed by the regime.
The portraits by Jörg Winde and Samaneh Khosravi show people at work, in their free time, at parties or on the street and give an immediate impression of the diverse biographies and living conditions that are shown and discussed by the two photographers in this conversation. Jörg Winde photographed people in their everyday lives on Vali Asr Street, the longest street in the capital Tehran at 20 km. Samaneh Khosravi focused specifically on women in different professions and the question of how they are perceived in Iran's male-dominated society and what obstacles they face in their everyday lives.

The event is part of the supporting program of the exhibition "IN RÄUMEN. Jörg Winde. Photographs 1984 - 2024".
