Psychic Liberation (PL) is a label founded in 2013 that was originally run by Miguel Alvariño under the name Primitive Languages as a cassette and record store project in New York City. Since 2019, it has been operated solo by Nick Klein from the EU under the name Psychic Liberation. 

The concert series of the same name features a rotating lineup of guests. 

Flora Yin-Wong
Flora Yin-Wong is a sound artist from London who works with fragmentary field recordings, granular synthesis, and traditional instruments, underpinned by influences from club culture. Through these diverse elements, her work expresses her interest in philosophical and psychological themes such as faith, obsession, and ritual.

In 2023, she founded the label and publishing house Doyenne, through which she has released works by artists such as Claire Rousay, Alex Zhang Hungtai, Teresa Winter, and Lisa Lerkenfeldt.

Her works have been commissioned and presented by, among others, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, MACRO in Rome, the Fondation Beyeler in Basel, the Triennale Milano, Somerset House, the V&A Museum and Cafe OTO in London, the ISSUE Project Room in New York, and the SHEDHAlle in Zurich.

Her releases have appeared on labels such as Modern Love, PAN, Shelter Press, and Danse Noire, including a multichannel composition for the Paris-based sound institute INA GRM.

Afraidofmessages
Afraidofmessages (AOM) is a solo project by Sonja Aguilar, guitarist and vocalist of the no-wave/noise-rock band BRAK.

In her solo work, she redefines classical instrumentation, with the guitar serving as her central sound source. Through experimental techniques and a variety of percussive tools, AOM draws a spectrum of abstract sounds and textures from a single instrument. This is complemented by synthesizers that add depth and harmoniously bridge sonic extremes by oscillating between harshness and delicacy.

The result is a fusion of contrasting elements that challenges conventional genre boundaries and invites listeners into a space where gentleness and intensity coexist.
