The band PVA—consisting of Ella Harris, Josh Baxter, and Louis Satchell—is one of the most exciting hidden gems of the British post-punk scene. Emerging from London’s DIY community and associated with bands like Shame and Squid, they’ve quickly built a growing fan base thanks to their clear artistic vision and a strong spirit of experimentation—and signed a deal early on with the renowned label Ninja Tune. Their music straddles the line between dance-punk and pop-infused darkwave, thriving on a collective flow and raw immediacy: personal experiences flow directly into the songs and blend with physically palpable grooves. On “No More Like This,” the trio’s second album, PVA sound more like themselves than ever before. By bringing out the contrasts in their powerful electro-punk even more sharply, they create a tension between vulnerability and anger—an intensity that also erupts in their compelling live performances.
