For the third time, Hiromitsu Mizuhara, owner of the Koike Group, will be coming to Berlin - this time for another exclusive event at the Chipperfield Kantine in Berlin-Mitte. This time we will be serving the outstanding ramen from Chuka Soba Nishino (中華蕎麦 にし乃), another of his renowned ramen stores. The restaurant is not only on Tabelog's current Tokyo Top 100 list, but has also been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand. And it is one of my absolute favorite bowls ever!
The set menu for €59.00 per person includes Chuka Soba Nishino's signature ramen, the famous roasted pork chashu rice bowl as a side dish, sansho pepper oil as ajihen (for a flavor change in the middle of the meal) and a small dessert. This will again be a truly unique ramen bowl - with flavors and textures that are very rarely (if ever) found outside of Japan. We are also working on some exciting specials that can be ordered additionally (for an extra charge).
The majority of seats are sold in advance via reservation (via the booking widget in the right-hand corner). Each session block is limited to 75 minutes (plus an additional 15 minutes buffer time). Walk-ins will also be available throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
The reservation system for the event is now online (see booking widget bottom right).
At Chipperfield Kantine, guests will experience the atmosphere of a real Japanese ramen store - with an open kitchen where you can watch Mizuhara-San prepare the bowls (impressions of our 2023 pop-up here and 2024 here). However, this also means that it will be quite crowded and busy inside, as chefs and service staff will serve food and drinks as soon as they are ready (just like in ramen stores in Japan).
Unfortunately, no vegetarian or vegan options are offered during the event. The soup contains fish, shellfish and pork/chicken. Pick-up or takeaway is not possible.
The Koike Group, founded and managed by Hiromitsu Mizuhara, operates eight restaurants in Tokyo: King Seimen, Chuka Soba Nishino, Tsukemen Kinryu, Inose, Aidaya, Aidaya 2, Hongouen, Koike and Koike no iekei. All serve different styles of ramen and are among the best in the country - four of his stores feature in Tabelog's current Top 100 list, and until recently two (!) of his restaurants were even awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand (out of a total of only 16 ramen restaurants in the whole of Tokyo).
