Recital (MA): Moritz Schöwing (Piano) und Jonas Grätzer (Schlagzeug)

The young pianist Moritz Schöwing has been on the North German jazz scene for several years now. He started piano lessons with his father Jens Schöwing at an early age and quickly discovered his passion for jazz and popular music. He has won prizes in several competitions and is currently studying for a Master's degree in jazz piano at the HfMT Hamburg. He has played with musicians such as Ed Kröger, Malte Schiller or with the Jazzkombinat Hamburg and the Nordwest Bigband.

Insights into the diverse sound language of a new generation of jazz artists - personal, artistic, live. The recital in the second semester of study is a central examination concert in the Dr. Langner Jazzmaster at the HfMT Hamburg. Together with their Jazzmaster ensemble, the students perform an individually designed concert program - from original compositions to sophisticated arrangements and free improvisations.

Moritz Schöwing (piano) The young pianist Moritz Schöwing has been on the North German jazz scene for several years. He started piano lessons with his father Jens Schöwing at an early age and quickly discovered his passion for jazz and popular music. He has won prizes in several competitions and is currently studying for a Master's degree in jazz piano at the HfMT Hamburg. He has played with musicians such as Ed Kröger, Malte Schiller or with the Jazzkombinat Hamburg and the Nordwest Bigband.

Jonas Grätzer (drums) Jonas Grätzer is a jazz drummer with a special feel for tonal depth, energetic interaction and improvisational freedom. After studying at the Folkwang University and the Guildhall School in London, he is currently studying for a master's degree in jazz percussion at the HfMT Hamburg. With his ensemble, he develops a modern, multi-layered sound between groove and quiet intensity. The music moves between European jazz, rock, classical music and free improvisation - rhythmically complex, emotionally charged and open to personal interpretation.
