Reis & Aphorya live
In the organizer's words:
Reis has been on the road since mid-2022, bringing a unique mix of fusion jazz, funk and very light punk elements to your ears. Unusual solos, striking themes and odd time signatures characterize the band's sound - sometimes playful, sometimes edgy, but always with recognition value. The influence of the four musicians' different musical backgrounds is unmistakable: Sebastian (saxophone), Christoph (guitar), Marius (bass) and Laurin (drums) combine their experiences to create their very own style. Jazz perhaps, but above all: "rice".
Aphorya play contemporary jazz with influences from Sara Serpa, Lage Lund and Mary Halvorson. We always try to expand conventional structures and listening habits. With the freedom this gives us, we explore new sonic spectrums without losing the connection for the listener. As a core, we perform as a duo, but we also like to expand our formation to a quartet in order to make our sound even more multifaceted.
