Mysterious, melancholic, yet also club-ready: With their debut album “Der Wahn als Methode,” the Stuttgart duo Photophor is bringing a breath of fresh air to the German synth-wave scene. The band, consisting of singer and guitarist Asch and keyboardist and bassist Kate, forges its own musical path—inspired by, but by no means dependent on, the scene’s big names.
