Saving food and dancing at the same time? It's possible!
On Friday, 27 June 2025, the market square in Bloherfelde will once again be transformed into a colorful open-air kitchen with a dance floor: the Oldenburg snipping disco is going into the next round - and with a lot of momentum and attitude against food waste!
Last year, over 250 kilograms of food were saved at the event and around 300 people came together to chop, cook and celebrate. This year's motto is once again: chopping instead of throwing away!
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., rescued food - including from Foodsharing - will be chopped and prepared. The end result is a warm, delicious meal that everyone can enjoy together. All you need to bring is hunger, cutlery, a plate, a cup - and preferably a good mood and a desire to dance!
There's music for your ears - live and with a beat!
The Oldenburg band Klezmarized and two local DJs will provide the perfect soundtrack, inviting you to dance to summer beats.
Supporting program for young and old
In addition to slicing and feasting, there will be a colorful supporting program with games and activities for children, screen printing and clothing swaps. Everyone is invited to bring clothes to swap or print.
Participation and food are free of charge and registration is not necessary. Everyone is welcome to set an example against food waste together!
The event is a cooperation between Ernährungsrat Oldenburg, JANUN, the ÖZO and is supported by Gemeinwesenarbeit Bloherfelde.
