However, police statistics and studies show a very different picture. The situation for women and queer people is disastrous and is getting worse.

Violence is increasing in all areas and a woman is now killed by her (ex-)husband almost every other day in Germany. Politicians shrug their shoulders and watch.

So was the feminist movement really a success? Or was all the progress made long ago buried under setbacks? In her book, Carolina Schwarz takes stock of the #metoo movement.

On November 25, the International Day against Violence against Women, she will present her book in the taz Talk and discuss how #meToo can continue.

🐾 Carolina Schwarz has been with taz since 2017 and is currently head of taz zwei - the department for society and media. She mainly writes about intersectional feminism, (digital) violence against women and pop phenomena. Her book "#MeToo" was published by Reclam-Verlag.
