The time has come. 6 years ago, a kind of comeback not only surprised us, it was factually unique in its history. A band that in the 90s had become the state-of-the-art of guitar wall-influenced pop music (we deliberately avoid the limiting term "shoegaze" here) and with their third record actually disappeared completely from the scene, presented in 2016 an album that was not only their "comeback album", but also undisputedly knew how to set standards. In the sound, in the songwriting attitude and the devoted awareness of wanting to create a new form of sound aesthetics. With this record, a band met a young audience that had obviously rediscovered their entire oeuvre over the many years of their disappearance, and Slowdive succeeded in casting a milestone in sound with their self-titled album. After that, everything was different and the band was much, much bigger than it had ever been before its breakup in the late 90s. Well. They are now back after 6 years. And listen for yourself what incredible pop atmosphere Slowdive 2023 knows how to bring out. "Everything Is Alive" (VÖ: 01.09.) will set standards again. The first single "Kisses" already shows where the journey will go: psychedelic soundscapes meet pulsating 80s electronic elements and John Cale-inspired avant-garde passages. A journey that will lead to Germany in January2024, where the band will bring their incomparable sound to the stage on four evenings.
