In the organizer's words:

Using Berlin, London, Hamburg, Cologne, Basel and Vienna as locations, "SOLD CITY" explores the questions of how people are experiencing the real estate boom in these times, where the price increases are coming from and what possibilities and alternatives there are to defend oneself against them. The film shows not only the brutality with which investors "un-rent" their properties, but also how people can defend themselves and what needs to be done to ensure that housing remains affordable in conurbations.

After the film, we will discuss with Kalle Gerigk, a tenants' rights activist from Cologne, who is affected himself and appears in the film, and the founders of the alternative building cooperative Petershof whether and how the development of ever-increasing housing costs can be stopped.
