Castro, Nemo and their crew have been selling, distributing and producing records in their store Sound Metaphors on Reichenberger Straße near Kotti for nine years. With a great deal of commitment and an extremely broad spectrum of musical niche styles, they also run seven of their own labels, on which you can find everything from early 80s disco, Brazilian music, Italo disco, synth pop, DJ tool white labels, Goa trance compilations and much more. This diversity and depth of musical knowledge is also reflected in the line-up of their anniversary party, to which they have invited friends, role models and extended family. With C3D-E & Hashman Deejay, there is a live act from the Acting Press environment (C3D-E is one of the operators of the Berlin vinyl-only label alongside PLO Man, who will also be playing), who have released two great-sounding dub techno tracks together so far. Making her live debut at the Panorama Bar is Chinese artist Xiaolin, whose ethereal productions combine dreamy electro basslines with warm, earthy percussion. Also from China is DJ and producer Temple Rat, who interweaves fast drum beats, complex storytelling and field recordings in her DJ sets. Happy birthday, Sound Metaphors!
