Whether in Hamburg, Weimar or Buxtehude - affordable housing is a matter of survival for most people in Germany. While real estate companies and owners continue to raise rents, we ask ourselves: Why is nothing happening?

What can the rent index actually do? Is the rent freeze enough? Can a nationwide rent cap stop the trend? And how did things actually work in Berlin when there was a rent freeze?
