Founded in 2024 by Leipzig-based guitarist Robert Griese, the band “Stadtrundfahrt” explores the boundaries between Indian and Afro-Cuban rhythms, North American and European melodies and harmonies, and the musical realities of the four musicians’ lives. The classic rock lineup—featuring vocals, electric guitar, electric bass, and drums—serves as a foundation for presenting Robert Griese’s genre-bending compositions in a familiar framework. Through the musicians’ collaborative and intensive work on the music, an interwoven quality and intimacy emerge that lend the band’s sound a palpable depth and reveal new facets time and again, even upon repeated listening.
