Timcheh is teaming up with Niehler Freiheit to host a two-day summer festival. On Friday, we’ll kick things off with a cozy movie screening (unfortunately indoors due to rain), and on Saturday, there will be a workshop, dance music, and delicious food.

A group of young Afghan rappers lives on the margins of society in Iran, where their music is banned, their status is precarious, and mere survival is a daily struggle. Yet it is precisely from this struggle that something new emerges: a sound, a scene, a community. “Street Poets” follows them through a life they have built according to their own vision.

Following the screening, there will be a 30-minute discussion with director Shadi Tabibzadeh about the making of the film and the stories behind it. In case of rain, the event will take place indoors.
Donations from the screening will support a fundraising campaign for Iranian artists (including the film’s protagonists).
