Here, you’ll experience radio up close, where you can watch and join the discussion. A lively discussion on the topics of the day, broadcast across the country, produced in Berlin’s new-old center, at the Humboldt Forum.  

Karin Prien says she doesn’t want to meddle in the children’s room. “But we need to make it much clearer to parents what consequences their behavior has for their children’s development.”

By this, the Federal Minister for Family Affairs means not only children’s screen time but also that of their parents. For Karin Prien, one thing is certain: Children under the age of three should have absolutely no contact with digital devices. And when it comes to social media, the CDU politician wants an age limit of 13. Since 2025, the mother of three has served as Federal Minister for Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth. Prior to that, she was a state minister in Schleswig-Holstein for many years. Karin Prien completed her studies with a focus on “International Trade Law” in Amsterdam, her hometown. In 1979, she joined the Schüler Union, and in 1981, she joined the CDU. Relatively late, in 2016, Karin Prien publicly acknowledged her Jewish roots.

The Humboldt Forumand its facilities are wheelchair-accessible. A tactile floor guidance system helps blind and visually impaired visitors find their way. Educational programs are tailored to the diverse needs of visitors with disabilities. These include tactile tours, guided tours, and workshops interpreted in German Sign Language (DGS), as well as guided tours for and with people with learning disabilities.
