Author Susanne Goga will be presenting her new book Die wilden Jahre at the TMD. The location for the reading is no coincidence, however. This is where she found the inspiration for her recently published novel. It follows the siblings Thora and Hannes Bernrath in the turbulent months of 1919. Thora uses the new and exciting time to start studying acting in Düsseldorf, while Hannes, who actually wanted to study architecture, is disoriented after his return from the front. One day Hannes is arrested on suspicion of murder, but remains stubbornly silent.
Between selected passages, which Susanne Goga will read for the audience, she will chat with Sascha Förster, director of the TMD, about the research and the themes of her book.
In cooperation with Düsseldorf Queer and Queere Geschichte(n) Düsseldorf e.V.
