Heroines of the heart - Puccini meets Monteverdi
Women set the tone in opera. Although unfortunately fewer works by female opera composers have been handed down from the past, it is mostly women as great tragic figures who are the decisive protagonists of the drama. In our staged class evening, we look at their fate, but also their greatness. To mark the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's death, we are focusing on the opera characters Madame Butterfly and Mimi from La Boheme. Claudio Monteverdi's female characters will have their say as an equal counterpart.
