Tag des offenen Denkmals® 2026
In the organizer's words:
For Open Monument Day 2026, the German National Library in Leipzig will once again open its doors and invite visitors to discover the building on Deutscher Platz from a unique perspective. Under this year’s theme, “Networks,” we’ll show how closely culture, knowledge, and society are intertwined—and what role the library plays as a central hub within this framework.
Our guided tours bring these connections to life: Take a look behind the scenes and learn how books, journals, and other media are moved, cataloged, and made available for use within a complex system. Here, you’ll see how many individual collections come together to form a functioning network of knowledge.
