Dance workshop: Maloya - Creole movements from La Réunion

Discover the Maloya dance, one of the oldest and most powerful dance traditions of La Réunion. The dance combines African, Malagasy and Indian influences and tells stories of identity, resistance and joie de vivre.

In this workshop you will learn the basic steps and movements of Maloya - earthy, rhythmic and full of expression.

The workshop is open to all (men are welcome, no previous experience required.

Note for female participants: If possible, please bring a long skirt. The flowing fabric supports the movements and makes the gestures of the Maloya particularly visible.
