In "A BEGINNING #16161D" by Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou, five dancers and singers perform in almost complete darkness. The audience hears them breathing, walking and talking - but their bodies remain largely hidden. Sparse light sources make their voices visible and challenge our perception. Where choreography meets musical composition, the resonating movement of the sound (singing) separates from the visual movement, only to reconnect later in an unmistakable interplay. The result is a poetic narrative about the dialectic of the individual and the community - and an imaginative search for new forms of togetherness. An immersive experience of a special kind!
