tba – to be aware | Roundtable #14
PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:
As part of the “tba – continues” project, Clubkombinat Hamburg invitesyou toRoundtable Awareness & Participation#14. The focus will be on the topic “Anti-Discrimination Club Culture—A Prerequisite and Foundation for Awareness-Raising Work.”
How can clubs, venues, and cultural initiatives become places where diversity is embraced and discrimination is actively countered?
In this roundtable, we’ll explore the fundamentals of a club culture that is critical of and sensitive to discrimination. Together, we’ll discuss different forms of discrimination, power dynamics in nightlife, and concrete steps that organizers, staff, artists, and guests can take.
Among other things, the discussion will focus on the following questions:
- What does an anti-discriminatory and discrimination-sensitive club culture mean in practice?
- What structures promote respectful, inclusive, and as safe as possible interactions?
- How can instances of discrimination be identified early on, addressed appropriately, and handled responsibly?
- What responsibility do event organizers, teams, and other stakeholders bear for creating spaces that are sensitive to discrimination?
In addition to expert insights, the roundtable provides a space for exchange, reflection, and collaborative learning. Using real-world examples, participants will develop concrete ideas and solutions for their own work and share practical experiences.
Let’s work together to build a club culture where respect, inclusion, and safety are not the exception, but the norm.
We look forward to an evening of professional exchange, practical insights, and concrete approaches to raising awareness in everyday life.
