On September 5–6 and 12–13, 2026, Baurs Park will become an exhibition venue. For “Tell me, grounds. Art in Baurs Park,” Simone Karl, Julia Nordholz, Elena Victoria Pastor, and The New Liquidity are developing four new site-specific works for the Kunsthaus Baurs Park.
We are delighted that, with“Tell me, grounds,”we are the only institution in Blankenese to be part of the first Hamburg Art Week “Crossing Currents” and to view the Open Monument Days—this year with the Kunsthaus closed to the public—as an invitation to shift our perspective: What does a historic site mean when it’s not just architecture that carries history? What memories do the trees in Baurs Park hold? Who owns a landscape? How does a place where people come together come into being? And what does the place tell us? The artworks respond to these questions in very different ways: they trace the memories of a house that we can currently experience only from the outside, give trees a voice, question the rights of nature, or explore protection as something that makes growth possible in the first place.
The exhibition is accompanied by Artist Picnics, workshops for children, teens, and adults, as well as a literary walk through the park. We’re interested not only in encounters with art, but also in encounters with one another. A desk under the trees, a conversation on a picnic blanket, or a sound experience in the park can transform a place. That is where our house now begins—without its physical structure—not through walls, but through people coming together.
