Performers: Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Madeline Brewer
In his English-language debut, director Jan Komasa (CORPUS CHRISTI, GOOD BOY) takes a razor-sharp look at the spread of a fascist ideology in seemingly established circles. What happens when politics divides an entire family? And how steadfast does democracy remain when it is emotionally renegotiated in the nuclei of society - our families?
Ellen (Diane Lane), a professor at the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and chef Paul (Kyle Chandler) are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. While the guests are having a great time, Ellen can't shake the feeling that she already knows her son's new girlfriend. Liz (Phoebe Dynevor) turns out to be a former student who was kicked out of university for her "anti-democratic theses". Now she is on the verge of initiating a social paradigm shift with "The Change" movement that will shake up the entire American political system. Suddenly Ellen has to fight not only for the cohesion of her family, but for the freedom and values of an entire country.
