THE MONSTERS
In the organizer's words:
THE MONSTERS
Garage, Punk, Rock 'n' Roll, Black 'n' Roll | Bern, Switzerland
THE MONSTERSis a three-piece band that was founded in 1986 in Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Their sound is a mix of ’60s garage punk, wild teenage trash rockabilly, primitive rock ’n’ roll, and black metal boogie. It’s 187% not MTV or Top 100 crap! It’s simply one-riff trash rock.
In addition to countless shows in Switzerland, THE MONSTERS have embarked on extensive tours throughout Europe, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Austria, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Russia, and Spain, among others. They’ve toured Argentina, Brazil, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, the U.S., and Mexico. THE MONSTERS are an amazing live band that bring the house down on any stage. They’ve shared the bill with “Guitar Wolf,” “The Monks,” “The Sonics,” "Ty Segall," "Black Lips," and many more. They’ve played at venues and festivals such as CBGBs (USA) and the Le Guess Who Festival (NL), as well as countless DIY punk venues.
Over the years, THE MONSTERS have recorded 10 albums, released tons of singles and EPs, and appeared on countless compilations. The LP“Youth Against Nature”was recorded at the now-famous Toe Ra Studios (London) by Liam Watson.“Garage Punk Vol. 1”is a double LP featuring 20 years of trash.
THE MONSTERS are signed to Voodoorhythm Records in Switzerland. Voodoorhythm is run by BeatMan, the singer and guitarist of THE MONSTERS. Beat-Man played—and still plays—in other projects such as “Lightning Beat-Man,” “Reverend Beat-Man,” “Die Zorros,” and a few others.
Check them out live on stage... they’ll blow your mind with tons of chainsaw-massacre garage punk and primitive one-riff rock ’n’ roll trash... (Source: Artist info)
