The Skin Listens Too
In the organizer's words:
In recent years, artist Netta Weiser has been listening to moving bodies through microphones, speakers, and radio broadcasts as part of her long-term project *Radio-Choreography*. After years of listening to dance through sound technologies, this new work explores how the act of listening itself can be choreographed and performed.
Here, choreography emerges through the act of listening rather than seeing. The voice becomes a form of touch, and attunement becomes a way of moving together.
At the heart of the work are choreographic interpretations of “Listening Scores” by the American feminist composer Pauline Oliveros, which build on her exploration of collective listening as an embodied, political, and activist practice. The title of the work, *The Skin Listens Too*, is a quote from Oliveros.
