Théâtre du Mouvement: Ma P'tite Dame
PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:
On Aging in a Society That Idealizes Youth
Without Language
Followed by a discussion
Théâtre du Mouvement presents three variations on the silence that often surrounds older people. With defiant humor, Claire Heggen confronts her doppelgänger puppet. Aging is an ongoing transformation—both physical and social—in which the great puppeteer invites the audience to participate. Who is the mirror image of the other?
At the end of 2026, Claire Heggen will celebrate her 80th birthday. In 1975, she co-founded the Théâtre du Mouvement with Yves Marc, a company that masterfully navigates the intersection of physical theater and puppetry. For 50 years, Claire Heggen has been working on “the gesture that fascinates us, which, through its own poetics, touches upon realms of sensation in the viewer that only they themselves can grasp,” as she herself puts it.
Invitation: Before the performance, we invite you to the festival reception at 7:00 p.m., featuring, among others, Marek Wiechers, Cultural Affairs Officer for the City of Munich.
