Théâtre du Mouvement: Ma P'tite Dame
In the organizer's words:
On Aging in a Society That Idealizes Youth
Without Language
Followed by a discussion
Théâtre du Mouvement presents three variations on the silence that often surrounds older people. With defiant humor, Claire Heggen confronts her doppelgänger puppet. Aging is a continuous transformation—both physical and social—in which the renowned puppeteer invites the audience to participate. Who is the mirror image of the other?
At the end of 2026, Claire Heggen will celebrate her 80th birthday. In 1975, she founded the Théâtre du Mouvement together with Yves Marc, a company that masterfully navigates the intersection of physical theater and puppet theater. Claire Heggen has been working for 50 years on “the gesture that fascinates us, which, through its own poetics, touches areas of sensation in the viewer that only he or she can grasp,” as she herself puts it.
