Author, pop writer, musician and DJ Thomas Meinecke is an extremely well-informed music connoisseur. His breakthrough came
25 years ago with "Tomboy". His gender studies, which became a novel, were far ahead of their time: "An extraordinary program for which no literary example can easily be found" (Die Zeit). Now comes "Odenwald" (Suhrkamp), a new magnum opus that turns Theodor W. Adorno's place of dreams and longing, Amorbach, into an exciting experimental set-up. In the Odenwald idyll, new and familiar general themes of the author are dealt with cleverly and stylishly: the gender discourse, Adorno, the Wild West (sic!), psychoanalysis and the return of the body and the material. And above it all lies, well, what: music. Two weeks after publication, Thomas Meinecke will be reading from his new work in our pop-up space. And he will almost certainly bring some music with him.
