Transparence: solo reflexions

In Transparence, composer and performer Pablo Garretón combines modular synthesizers, surround electronics, interactive video installation and biometric sensor technology to create a hybrid audiovisual experience. Behind a translucent screen, he controls sound and image in real time with his body. The performance reflects the paradox of transparency in the digital age: permanent visibility in social media meets the invisibility of the algorithms that guide our perception. Inspired by Byung-Chul Han's critique of the transparency society, the work questions the aesthetic and political dimensions of algorithmic structures. Transparence invites the audience into a fragile, constantly changing environment - on the border between body, code and algorithmic perception.
