Silence can have fatal consequences. For example, when an Arab worker is suspected of having killed a child, even though an Israeli mother knows that he is innocent. Or when fear for one's own family mixes with the dynamics of a divided and racist society to form a nasty poison. In UninvitedGuests, Tel Aviv-based author and psychologist Ayelet Gundar-Goshen(LionsAwaken, Where the Wolf Lurks) has written a "shimmering, intimate psychodrama about racism and revenge, motherly love and lies out of fear" (NDR Kultur). A novel that does not shy away from the complexity of the political and social situation in Israel and shows how this very complexity affects individual people. Carsten Hueck (DLF) takes a look with the author at a deeply disturbing portrait of society. Anja Herden from Schauspiel Hannover reads the German passages.
